As the UK marks Armed Forces Day this month, Soul Garages is proud to announce the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant – reinforcing its longstanding commitment to supporting veterans, reservists, and service leavers as a vital part of the UK’s automotive talent pipeline.

A cornerstone of the Olney community for over a century, Soul Garages has always stood for integrity, reliability, and local pride. This latest step formalises the business’s dedication to fostering an inclusive, values-driven workplace that recognises the unique skills and experiences of the Armed Forces community.

With more than 2.2 million veterans across the UK and around 15,000 individuals transitioning out of the military each year – many with qualifications in mechanical and electrical engineering – the automotive industry is well placed to benefit from their expertise. The Covenant is part of the Mission Automotive initiative delivered by Mission Community and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), which helps to translate military skills into rewarding civilian careers.

For Soul Garages, this commitment is personal. The company’s owner served for many years in the Armed Forces, and that sense of duty and service continues to shape the business’s approach today. Whether it’s through advanced training for electric and hybrid vehicle servicing or by offering new roadside assistance services through its dedicated Service Truck, Soul Garages is not only investing in the future of motoring – but also in the people who help drive it forward.
